Attention runners - want to be a science experiment?
/I (Darren Morton) have been contacted by Chris Stevens who is an Exercise Physiologist, triathlon coach and PhD student. Chris is seeking runners who would like to be part of his PhD study. It looks like a very interesting project and you would learn a lot! (I plan to get involved). Chris has provided some information about the study below but to register your interest or get more information contact Chris!
Ourimbah university is seeking runners to participate in a research project. The project will investigate the cooling effects of slushie ingestion and menthol mouth rinse on 5 km running performance in the heat. For detailed information on the project, see the information statement attached.
All participants will receive a detailed analysis of their VO2max, blood lactate concentrations and heart rate, as well as information on their individual training zones. Participants must be male, be prepared to attend the Ourimbah campus on 4 occasions and have run a 5 km time trial in a time between 17-23 min in the last 6 months. The project will run from December-Feburary, and participants can attend the campus at times that suit them.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could forward on this email to any potential runners
